It’s time for another #AOProfile! Take a moment to meet Senior Associate Director of Admission and liaison to our Curriculum & Teaching and Mathematics, Science & Technology departments, Deanna Ghozati Gregory. A graduate of TC’s Psychology in Education program (M.A. ’06), Deanna grew up in Long Island, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University. Keep reading on to learn more about Deanna!

Where are you from?

I am originally from Westbury, NY on Long Island.

Which projects in the Office of Admission are you involved with?

I have the pleasure of coordinating our on-campus events. So if you haven’t already attended an event, I’d love for you to join us for Campus Visits, Fall Open Houses, and more. I really enjoy event planning! It provides an opportunity to collaborate with various members of the TC Community. One day I’m working with Media Services, and the next I’m communicating with Public Safety or CulinArt. It’s so fulfilling to work together to produce successful events!

What hobby do you wish you had more time for?

I wish I had more time to play my bass guitar! I hadn’t played in several years, but I recently picked it up again. With a little more time, maybe I can try out some of my favorite songs.

What is your most significant memory as a student at TC?

I’ll never forget our Admitted Student Welcome event! There were so many emotions — I was excited to start graduate school, I was nervous about balancing school and work, but most importantly I was so happy to officially start my journey at TC. It’s crazy to think back to that time, especially since I’m in the process of planning this year’s Admitted Student Welcome! Definitely feels like I’ve come full circle.

What’s your favorite off-campus hangout spot in Morningside Heights?

I love sitting on the steps by the Alma Mater! It’s one of my go to spots to eat lunch or to just relax and take in the beautiful campus view.

What is your favorite place to eat in NYC?

Levain Bakery! Their cookies are THE BEST!
